What camera do you use?
I’ve had a Canon 650D since day one and love it. I started out with using an 18-135mm lens, but now I exclusively use a 50mm fixed lens. It’s worth its weight in gold, let me tell you. I love it.

Which photo editor do you use?
I currently use Picmonkey. It’s a free online photo editor and really like it.

Do you eat everything you make?
Of course I do! I eat and taste-test every single thing I blog about. After all, I need to know what my food tastes like. When I write that something was “super moreish and tasty” it’s because I thought it was. However, I don’t stuff my face with the food I make. I’ll admit most of it isn’t healthy so I only eat very small portions of it (ie a bite or two).

From where did you learn food styling and photography?
I’m completely self-taught in that area and am still learning a lot. I’ve done a little of my own research over the years, but a lot of my photography “knowledge” (or lack thereof) comes from seeing other professionals and from lots and lots of practice.

What do you do with all the food you make?
My family often enjoys the fruit of my labor and they usually love eating the food I make. As much as I wished they did, they don’t have bottomless stomachs so a lot of the food I make is given away to friends. Sometimes I even take food to church and it always goes down well.

What sparked your interest in food and baking?
Well to be completely honest with you, I don’t know! Growing up, I didn’t have much of an interest with food or baking and can’t remember baking anything in the kitchen before the age of 12 or 13. However when we were younger, my sister and I often played ‘bakery’ or ‘takeaway’ (yarn noodles or cardboard chips, anyone?) and at one stage we even had our own outdoor ‘restaurant’ complete with grass soups and flower tea. We made just as much mess as we had fun. Over the last 2-3 years, however, my interest in baking grew and developed and I loved it so much that I decided to start blogging about it.

Do you have a sweet tooth?
Surprisingly, no! I’m a bit of a health nut and try to stay away from eating sugar as much as I possibly can. I’m not a big fan of chocolate either – all I crave these days is peanut butter or a fresh salad.
Are you a vegetarian? Nope. I love my meat. A lot. I just don’t like touching or handling the raw stuff. In fact, I get a little OCD and wash my hands and kitchen utensils about 13 times after dealing with meat. No joke. You know, just in case I accidentally food poison and kill my entire family in the process.

What’s your favourite tool of the trade?
At the moment, it’s my trusty handheld beater (technically it’s not mine, but anyways). It’s old and is far from fancy, but I love it. However I am eying off a Kitchenaid. Whoever wants to gain the title of Grace’s Favourite Person Ever only has to purchase me one. A pink one would be nice. Any takers?

I want to write a guest post for your blog. Can I do that?
I can’t promise it’ll be a yes, but I’ll definitely consider it! See the advertising page or email me for more information. I’m a vendor and I’d like you to promote my products/services. Can you review them, host a giveaway, or blog about them? I’d definitely consider it! Email me at butterandjam@gmail.com and we can discuss it further.

I’d like to advertise on your site or become a sponsor. What should I do?
See the advertising page. Email me for further details… I’d love to hear from you! I’m found at butterandjamblog@gmail.com.
